Hola! Aloha! Namaste!

I am Sabriya Dobbins and my entire heart and soul is so happy when doing anything Project Passport. I am currently based in Raleigh, NC with my handsome fiance’ and two silly dogs, Zeus and Penelope. Now this thing started from humble beginnings I must say. I am originally from Fayetteville, NC, yes the military town everyone knows about! Funny thing, my parents are not even military; they are in fact both teachers.

After attending college to receive degrees in Animal Science and Social Work, I was all over the entire place figuring out which direction I wanted to take in life. Starting in high school, I began traveling abroad and I did many times throughout my college career. Several jobs and internships later, I realized that nothing was going to make the cut no matter how hard I tried even if I was good at it. Corporate job after another, I kept getting the same result, dissatisfaction. I knew what I had to do. I had to dig deep and believe it or not, I read this book called “Girl Wash Your Face” and it changed everything for me. Or at least it started the change. I realized that if I ever was going to be happy—what I am about to say is very cliche but hey its true—I had to FOLLOW MY DREAMS. Really.

When traveling, I often found it difficult to maintain lasting relationships when I participated in travel groups and I also found it difficult to meet other couples while traveling with my fiancé.’ Sometimes, I felt as though I could not truly remember portions of several of my trips because I never had the time to really “reflect” on my experiences.

I founded Project Passport in hopes of inspiring more millennials and really all generations to travel the world to learn about other cultures and to create a more connected travel environment where travelers challenge themselves and participate in meaningful reflection and communication.

I have been through the lowest places in my life mentally, physically and emotionally over the years. There were months that I simply lived on auto-pilot and mornings that it took everything in my heart to even leave the bed. That is a dark place to be and it is even harder when you don’t know where you are going in life.

I carefully created each of the travel retreat themes with the intention of bringing light and hope into the lives of our travelers. I want you to see things in yourself that you may have not known you had. I want you to understand just what you bring to the table and how to maintain your spirit inside. It is not easy to navigate this thing we call life but it means everything when you go through it together with others looking to see you win.

Well here we are! That was how my gem Project Passport was born. Jesus has blessed me in having an opportunity to share my passions with others and help people like you experience something fresh and exhilarating while traveling!

Bon Voyage,

Sabriya, xoxo
